There was the area called "HONOKUNI" before the period of Taika. It was located in east Aichi prefecture, expanding to the mountain Miyazi in the west, the river Takara of Toyokawa city in the north and around mid and downstreamof the river Toyokawa in the east. It was a land of milk and honey. The name of "Country of the ear" comes down as "the east Mikawa block of Aichi prefecture" in current history.
