| Kohaku Makino built this castle in the 2nd year of the Eisho period (1505) by order from the Imagawa family who were the Guardians for the country of Suruga. Tadatsugu Sakai and Terumasa Ikeda who were the Leaders of the clan, they lived in this castle during the Edo period. The present castle was restored with the form of Sansohakua for the Toyohashi exposition which was held in the 29th year of the Showa period. The Toyohashi museum is situated next door. |
