Purpose: The Association was established with the aim of further enhancing international understanding through the vitalization of regional industries and advanced culture and learning. This will be achieved by making use of the large number of tourist attractions in the area for promoting tourism and convention opportunities
(Article 3 of Association Regulations)
Core Activities: 1. Be in a position to attract tourism and conventions
  Seek understanding and cooperation as a city for tourism and conventions. Activities related to creating a consensus
  Activities related to attracting tourism and conventions
  Activities related to accepting tourism and conventions
  Views and proposals on environmental issues as a city for tourism and conventions (Promotional Activities for Maintaining Tourism and Convention Facilities)
  Affiliations with businesses involved with tourism and conventions (Accommodation, Dining, Transport, and Commerce)
  2. Discovering and Creating New Local Tourist Attractions
  Investigating ways to reconstruct, fully utilize, and inform people of native tourist attractions
  Creation and showcasing of local products
  Establishing extensive tourist routes around the entire Higashi Mikawa region
  3. Creating and Supporting Regional Traditions and Events
  Co-sponsorship of Hono no Saiten / Fire Festival
  Creation of new events
  4. Regional Promotional Campaigns
(using visuals from regional resources)
  Provision of tourist and regional information
  Activities to attract tourism (requests for performing groups)
  Proactive promotional campaigns through the support of travel agencies
  Write-ups in national magazines
  5. Activities Leading to Recognition as a city for International Tourism and Conferences
  The Law Stipulating the Promotion of International Tourism through Attracting and Holding of International Conferences (Convention Law: Ministry of Transport, 1994)
Objectives: 1. The entire region should act as a base for the exchange of people, artifacts, and information
  2. Intensify efforts for the promotion of tourism
  3. Discover new tourist, cultural, and historical relics for use as regional resources
  4. Intensify the spread of tourist information to enhance exchange within the region
  5. Create regional tourism resource models and form basic schedule of implementation
  6. Create regional districts that can meet the diverse requirements of tourism


What are Conventions?
Conventions refer to any conferences, assemblies, and competitions that include the concepts of meetings, trade shows, events, and incentives.
Meetings: Various organizations, academic functions, and business conferences
Trade show: Trade fairs, exhibitions
Events: Sports and cultural exchange events
Incentives: Company and dealer based incentive trips
