The Toyokawa Tezutsu Festival is known all over Japan for lighting off traditional hand-held fireworks which have been passed down for generations in the shrines of the city all at once. The pillars of flames instantaneously shooting out brilliantly towards the dark night sky and the thundering noises of last lighting off called a hane are an amazing experience. Onlookers can enjoy around 2,000 rocket and exhibition type fireworks including star-mine fireworks.
