Mikawa（Toyohashi area）Port is known all around Japan as Japan’s first port to handle the import of automobiles, and it is used by large automobile manufacturers inside and outside Japan as a location for importing and exporting automobiles. Also, a port information center, “Kamomeria”, was completed in 2005 under the theme of “knowing, learning, and enjoying Mikawa Port, Japan’s No.1 port of the automobile industry.” There, a models of ships designed for shipping automobiles and container ships, are on display. Also, there is a live video section. Visitors are also able to view Mikawa Port from the observation room.
